Ingredients:

1/2 cup x steamed pumpkin, then blended into a puree,
2 x free range eggs,
1 + 1/2 cups Organic Yellow Pea Flour,
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped,
1 x tablespoon of Almond Kernel Oil,
1/3 teaspoon of Stevia powder (alternative to sugar,)
1/2 teaspoon sea salt,
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon spice powder,
3 x teaspoons baking powder,
2 tablespoons of walnuts, (these may be ground down a little, using a mortar and pestle.)

Looking for high protein breakfast ideas and recipes? Here’s one excellent recipe that gives you a super breakfast morning kick-off and is high in protein to chase off the mid-morning “blah’s!” It can be made the night before and is a great after-dinner dessert recipe also!

This recipe is ideal for diabetes sufferers as it greatly aids in regulating blood sugar levels.

Bananas are rich in potassium with minerals such as iron, (good for the ladies!) calcium, magnesium and phosphorus — recommended for all who are suffering with anemia, blood pressure, heart problems, depression, nervous disorders, stress, morning sickness, menstruation, ulcers, constipation, etc.

Bananas are such a convenient food and ideal for snacking, given their ready-to-strip natural jacket! They are plentiful in vitamins such as vitamin C, A & B, including folate.

The main ingredient in this recipe however is Organic Yellow Pea Flour which is high in fibre, high in protein and antioxidants and is low in fat. Yellow pea flour may assist in preventing and managing Type 2 Diabetes by replacing whole wheat flour as an ingredient in creating low glycemic index foods.

The secondary ingredient (apart from the bananas) is the Organic Almond Meal Raw which has cholesterol-lowering effects, given almonds’ innate ability to reduce heart disease risk — this may also be partly due to the antioxidant action of the vitamin E found in the almonds.

Almonds also promote good cardiovascular health by providing potassium and only small amounts of sodium, making Organic Almond Meal Raw an especially good choice to in protecting against high blood pressure and atherosclerosis.

Being organic means that harmful pesticides and herbicides have NOT been utilised in the production of these products by Natural Earth Health Products hence putting no unnecessary load on your body’s immune system!

INGREDIENTS:

2 x medium, ripe bananas, chopped,
2 x cups of Organic Yellow Pea Flour by Natural Earth Health Products,
1 x cup of Organic Almond Meal Raw by Natural Earth Health Products,
2 x tablespoons of Apricot Kernel Oil by Natural Earth health Products,
2 x tablespoons of Gen 1:29 LSA mix by Natural Earth Health Products,
300ml x thickened cream,
300ml x full cream milk (Goat’s milk or unhomogenised Jersey cow’s milk is highly recommended!)
2 x free range eggs,
1 x tablespoon of raw honey (drizzle last into the mixing bowl.)
Optional: 1 x teaspoon cinnamon spice

METHOD:

Combine all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and blend to a smooth consistency using an electric hand mixer.
Add a little milk or Yellow Pea flour as necessary, to get a reasonably smooth consistency.
Ready your pancake pan or griddle by brushing with Apricot Kernel Oil and turning onto a low heat.
Using a wooden spoon, pour a little of the mix onto the heated pan — enough say, for a large-size pikelet.
Using a large egg-flip after about 30 seconds only, turn the pancake over and check if it is golden brown.

TIP: Try not to overcook the pancake mix in the pan, as it will harden the pancake and try to flip them only once.
TIP: If you are able, use a lid on the pancake pan to help force the heat through the pancake.

Serve these delightfully creamy pancakes on their own or with thickened cream and fresh strawberries, drizzled with honey, your favourite seasonal fruit such as blueberries, or with farmer’s cheese /cottage cheese on top.

There are lots of things you could actually do to boost your metabolic rate but for me it really comes down to 4 simple steps. Here's the 4 crucial steps to speed up your metabolism and to burn fat really fast

Natural Earth Health Products is presided by Gosia Kuszewski, one of Australia’s leading Naturopaths and weight-loss experts. Says Gosia:

There are lots of things you could actually do to boost your metabolic rate but for me it really comes down to 4 simple steps. Here’s the 4 crucial steps to speed up your metabolism and to burn fat really fast:

Clean your liver

Exercise, especially weight bearing exercises.

Avoid processed carbohydrates. They really slow down the metabolism.

Take supplements that include kelp, lipoic acid, magnesium, omega 3 fats (linseed, fish oils etc)

FACT: the single most powerful way to speed up your body’s metabolism is to actually clean your liver.

Let me share with you the most common symptoms associated with liver dysfunction, that I see are:

Digestive problems like – indigestion, reflux, gall stones, intolerance to fatty foods and alcohol, abdominal bloating and flatulence, craving for sugar and unstable blood sugars, abnormal metabolism of fats – increased cholesterol, high blood pressure, lumps of fat on the skin (lipomas), inability to lose weight, cellulite, roll of fat around the upper abdomen.

Then there’s immune dysfunction – allergies, sinusitis, asthma, dermatitis, chemical sensitivities, recurrent viral or bacterial infections.

Then there’s the nervous system – depression, mood changes, irritability, poor concentration “foggy brain”, recurrent headaches, overheating of the body. Metaphysically the liver is known as the “seat of anger.”

External signs for these are – coated tongue, bad breath, skin rashes, excessive sweating, offensive body odour, dark circles under the eyes, red palms and soles which may also be itchy.

The ways to clean your liver says Gosia, are: reducing fats and sugars in the diet, taking bitter herbs, drinking raw juices, especially apple, ginger and beetroot, and taking a good liver supplement.

Exercises are essential to build a good health and to stimulate metabolism. The more muscles you have, the faster your metabolism is working.

Processed carbohydrates like cereals, sweets, breads, pasta, and so on, require lots of energy in order to be digested. In return there isn’t much nutrients gained from it, so it is a very unbalanced reaction. Your body also is using the essential nutrients like zinc, magnesium and chromium to digest those useless foods so in a result, the body is deficient in them.

By supplementing with the natural nutrients like kelp, chromium, lipoic acid, magnesium and omega 3 fats, you can accelerate your metabolism and help your body work more efficiently.

Include seeds and nuts in your daily menu where you can.

Natural Earth Health Products is presided by Gosia Kuszewski, one of Australia’s leading Naturopaths and weight-loss experts. Says Gosia:

“Did you ever begin a weight loss diet only to discover you were constantly hungry?”

“This is probably because you were following a low fat regime. Low fat diets are notorious for being virtually impossible to keep to for long, since low fat foods do not satisfy.”

“These diets can be also dangerous. Since so many of your body’s tissues, hormones and all of its cells are dependent on a good supply of essential fats, a low fat regime undermines your overall health.”

FACT: “It may seem bizarre to lose weight by actually eating fat. The secret is however to eat the right kind of fat.

Distinguishing Between Good And Bad Fats

“Did you know that diets high in the wrong fats are just as harmful as low fat regimes.”

“So how do you distinguish between good and bad fats?” Here we go:

Bad Fats

These are the animal saturated fats found in meat, dairy products, ice cream, milk, cheese, and butter.

Good Fats

These are of the fats of vegetable origin — unsaturated oils like avocado, seeds, nuts, flaxseed oil. Also fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines) are a welcome source of good fats.

The good oils (Omega 3 fatty acids) help your body to shed fat stores and are essential for healthy brain function. The cell membranes are made up of essential fatty acids.

The Function Of The Good Fats:

Increase the metabolism

Regulate hormonal balance by influencing production of prostaglandins

They improve sensitivity to insulin, which then helps to regulate blood sugar

Omega 3 fats are destroyed by processing procedures like bleaching, hydrogenation, heating and deodorizing which turn corn, peanuts, and sunflower seeds to those golden oils you buy at the supermarkets. These are trans fats and are of no value for us. Avoid them!

Says Gosia “Omega 3 fats are the best appetite suppressants. Add essential fatty acids to your diet and you gradually begin to feel full and satisfied!”

“Generally introduce more seeds and nuts — such as those found in the premium LSA’s such as Super Strenth LSA’s found on this website’s Store and consume fatty fish.”

Essential fatty acids, or EFAs as they are also known, are fatty acids that cannot be constructed within the human body from other components by any known chemical pathways, and therefore must be obtained from the foods we eat. The best known sources of Omega 3 Fatty Acids are fish oils, fatty fish like mackerel, sardines, or red salmon, flaxseed oil and nuts.

Linseed has the extra health advantage of providing Omega 3 in a concentrated form, which means that even small amounts can be beneficially life-giving to your body’s overall wellness.

Omega 3 plays an essential role in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. It provides structural rigidity to cell membranes, decreases the stickiness of blood platelets and helps to reduce blood pressure and blood fats.

Helps to dissolve body fat

Increases metabolism & energy

Burns excess calories instead of depositing them as fatty tissue

Acts as a solvent helping the body to dissolve and remove hard fats

Stabilizes blood sugar

Improves brain function

Reduces inflammation

Improves concentration and memory

Helps depression

Fats improve the taste of foods and send the signal “full” to the human brain. Organic Milled Linseed Flour by Natural earth Health Products is a wonderfully rich source of Omega 3.

The high content of alpha Linolenic acids has made the ancient flax seed become our modern miracle food. Alpha Linolenic acid is a type of plant-derived omega 3 fatty acid, similar to those found in fish.

Researches reveal that lignin in linseed shows a lot of promise in fighting disease – including a possible role in cancer prevention especially breast cancer. It is thought that lignin metabolites can bind to oestrogen receptors, hence inhibiting the onset of estrogen-stimulated breast cancer.

Organic Milled Linseed Flour by Natural Earth Health Products is:

High in Omega 3

Aids in reducing constipation

High in Fibre

High in Antioxidants

Helps lower cholesterol

Helps to reduce blood pressure

Helps to lower blood triglyceride
