Christmas, the new year, my birthday... Woosh.. Done and Dusted. Here we are looking at the end of January 2015 in the blink of an eye. I hope this first newsletter of the year finds you well and that you had some time to slow down, enjoy the Summer holidays, the joy of the Christmas Season and that you feel refreshed - even if just a little!

I found it went too fast. But life is fast.. not that I want it to be. But you know; what I know, is that I'm in charge of that and only I can make my world slow down and that goes for you too.

Time and the management of it... I am more than sure, is something we all crave for. Ask anyone 'how are you'? and the answer is often 'Busy' or 'Crazy Busy' or 'Tired' or 'Exhausted'.... I don't want my answer to be just that, I want to take control of time better this year for me and mine. That's my challenge. I don't get into new year resolutions, I do think of what the year ahead may look like and I will say that the one thing I hope to do this year is to put the brake on more often. Easier said than done :)

Over the holidays I got into a number of books. One of which was about addressing adrenal fatigue and dysregulation - I love what author, Nora Gegadaus says about change "Change is not an event, after all it is a process. But we really do need to wake up and get moving. Health plus effective stress management needs to be our #1 priority if we are to get through this time and arrive at a brighter future".  So what to do?

Turn off the negative news of the world, put down your phone, get off the www, get outdoors, feel the warmth of the sun, go barefoot on the beach or on the grass, breath deep, laugh, sing, dance and give more time to the important things and people in your life.

"Adopting the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one." Hans Selye

I recently watched an interview with Bear Grylls (I think he is wonderful) to which he was asked what drives him. His answer was awesome.. "The fire inside, it's God given, you all have it, it's there, your stronger than you think." I love that answer. It's so very true. So if your thinking the changes are just too hard to make and you just don't have the will power to change - It's time to dig deep and get that inner fire raging!

Whether you over indulged over Christmas or have a recurring problem that you can't put your finger on the trigger of, digestive disorders are becoming more frequent.  Many people complain about painful bloating, constipation or diarrhea or food reactions. IBS is often a label given to undiagnosed problems. One of the blogs this month is written by Dr Nirala Jacobi and covers 6 leading causes of IBS.

The second article for those of you who like to be in the know is about trending.. what was for 2014 and what will be for 2015! We live in a rapidly changing world that is often unforgiving of those who ignore (or choose to ignore) or casually compromise their health. So that brings me to my next point - Fads... I don't do fads. I don't care for what's trending in food, I just want to live the way I do, day in, day out. Its not a set period of time for me, its not a diet, its not a detox plan, its every day food and lifestyle. I choose to be very aware of what I put in my body, what I put on my body, my environment, and my surrounds all the time.

I have also written a post about whey protein. There is information in it about the types of whey protein and which ones are used in our wholefood blends and the benefits. It is great reading if you have protein powders in your diet.

Yours in good health,
